My In the Light CD release show in Vancouver was absolutely amazing!

Thank you to the enthusiastic audience - I loved performing for all of you! Thank you to my band members, Adam, Elliot, Gord, Jesse and Laurence - you guys are the best! Thank you to the talented Marc on sound… and most especially, thank you to my mom, dad, sister and brother for all the work you did before, during and after the show. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family! And of course, to my super husband for praying for me and supporting me in my musical adventures…

I made the journey from my bometown in Port Angeles, Washington on Oct. 27 to hear Mariam and her band in Vancouver. Mariam’s music was, of course, strong and moving and spoke to my soul. I’m sure everyone else there experienced this. She sang from her heart and spirit and whether or not one speaks or understands Armenian didn’t matter. The band was outstanding and not only exhibited stellar musicianship but also worked as a unit with Mariam.

I would like to thank Sarah and Haigo Matossian for being so helpful and kind to me. This was a memorable evening.

Share The Story

“...My dream has always been to share the story of my culture with as many people who want to listen. My grandparent’s story -- especially accounts of their faith, resilience, and hope despite the many obstacles that they endured -- and more recently, the plight of the street children in Armenia -- the very children who taught me some of the songs which are now on this album -- have inspired me. I long to share these stories with others. And as I pass on this music, these stories to others, I hope that people will be as enriched as I have been.”
