We are still at LAX!
We are here at a hotel at the airport in LA due to delays and mix-ups at the airport… and I am still smiling…
My husband and I didn’t realize that basically we were travelling on the craziest day of the year: the last Saturday before Christmas… and LAX was a mess! So many people!! We were told to stand in one line, and then the agent realized he had made a mistake and told us to move to another line… then another agent made some errors on our tickets due to questions about our babe… we had taken care of everything, but she didn’t seem to think so… meanwhile, I am trying not to get anxious as I watch the minutes pass by and we aren’t even at our gate yet! I am thanking God for a husband who doesn’t get annoyed or frustrated and maintains his cool during times like these…
In the end, we did end up missing our flight and I was sobbing… but Brian the ticket agent at the counter was so amazing. He told us he had been calling for us on the PA a number of times, wanting us to get on the flight because he saw that we had a little one… but we were stuck at the other end of the airport trying to sort through what that agent thought was a problem… he apologized for her mistake and offered to put us up in a hotel for the evening… he also made sure we had our flights set for the next day… thank you, Brian, for being such an amazing person! I hope we get to meet him again on day at LAX. Whatever the case, I will be calling the airline to say what a super job he did.
And looking back now, I can honestly say that this situation turned out for the best. After an intense week in Los Angeles, and waking up at 4AM for the flight, we were all pretty exhausted. So, we decided to stay close to the airport, take up Brian on the offer of the hotel, not notify all our friends and relatives that we were in town for one more day, and just chill at the hotel… my babe slept and played and sang with me, my husband caught up on work, and we all relaxed. We reflected on the concert, the week and looked forward to Christmas with my family… well rested and content.
I love the way things work out in the end… Vancouver here we come!
