This city is so beautiful this time of year… the sun is out, but it isn’t too hot yet… and the blossoms are in full bloom… people are out and about… and there is this general feeling of cheerfulness in the air…
As a family we had some shopping to do today, not a favourite pastime for a Saturday when everyone else is thinking the same thing, but it had to be done. Picked up a great practical item for our Little One that had been recommended to us by dear friends… we had all gone out for dinner together one evening, and they pulled out this placemat for their toddler… what a great idea! It secured onto the tabletop at the restaurant, and he was able to eat his meal off the mat. I loved it and wanted one for our babe. So we bought one today and used it at lunch…very, very impressed by this simple item… it is called TinyDiner Portable Placemat and I highly recommend it… take it with you the next time you are out at a restaurant with your child who can feed him/herself.
After our little shopping spree, we headed over to Horizon Records for their National Record Store Day. Lots of great finds on sale… our friend Krys who was with us for the afternoon bought a Hall and Oats CD for 50 Cents! That was her big purchase of the day… There were all sorts of fantastic bands playing next door at The Bohemian throughout the day, and we caught one band while we had a delicious late lunch. I love spending time at Horizon and The Bohemian… always a treat… you get amazing food, plus great live music, and a superb selection of unique CDs to purchase. Owner Gene Berger has done an incredible job of supporting eclectic, independent music in this town over the years. There was a great article in the latest issue of G Magazine about his passion for and his perseverance in bringing amazing new music to Greenville. He has been a great supporter of my music too and shared very moving compliments about my show in February. Thank you, Gene!
Had a sweet time catching up with Krys… she is a talented musician…and a good friend….always good to see her…
And then it was time to go home for naps for everyone…blissful.
