I can’t believe it is almost August… less than a couple of days now…

Right now, we are in the thick of summer, surrounded by the most delicious local fruit: watermelon, cantaloupe, and peaches…peaches…peaches! The strawberries have come and gone and we enjoyed every last one… I love this time of year! I love the fruit, I love the sunshine (when it is not humid, of course, still haven’t got quite used to the humidity… does anybody ever get used to that?!) and I love the longer days…

And this coming weekend, we are looking forward to performing in beautiful Black Mountain, NC at Whitehorse Black Mountain, a great music venue in the heart of this delightful town.

This is going to be a very special concert for me. It was at Whitehorse where I had my very first performance with River, Chris and Eliot, my amazing band mates from Free Planet Radio. They had invited me back in January to come along and sing a couple of songs during their show at the venue. And so we went… and the evening was amazing! The crowd was incredibly enthusiastic – after all they had just been treated to some out-of-this-world music by the guys – and then I came on stage for my songs – and they embraced me and welcomed me into their hearts… you could just feel the positive energy flowing through the venue that night… people clapping, dancing, enjoying the music… oh, I loved every minute of it!

So I can’t wait to be back… to sing Armenian folks songs for this wonderful crowd again, to tell them stories of my grandmother – her inspiring story of survival during the Armenian Genocide, to get to know the people in the audience and hear their stories… oh, I relish the entire process…

And the media has been so supportive… thank you to everyone at the Asheville Citizen Times, the Mountain XPress, Black Mountain News…we appreciate your support so very much…
